Legal Awareness Programme on Women related Laws
World Population Day 11th July 2018
The students of St.Theresa’s College observed World Population Day on 11.07.2018. The program was held in the Department of Social Sciences. The programme started with an introduction by Dr.P.Ratna Mary Head of the Department of Social Sciences. A group of students presented a symposium discussing various pros and cons of over population. They brought out the causes and the ill effects of over population and they expressed their opinion freely. It was very well planned and well executed. The program came to an end with the closing remarks by Dr.P.Ratna Mary, Head of the Department of Social Sciences.

The Department of Social Sciences celebrated the
birth anniversary of Alluri Sitarama Raju, one of the foremost freedom
fighters who fought against the great British
empire. The program was organized to inspire the young students by
giving their life history of great national leaders and to infuse patriotism.
Dr.P.Ratna Mary gave an introduction and welcomed the gathering.
Dr.Rev.Sr.Marietta D’Mello garlanded the portrait of Alluri Sitarama Raju and
paid tribute to him. A video showing the life history of the leader Alluri Sitharama Raju was
played and explained various important events in his life. BA students Shrmila,
Bhargavi, Nireesha gave their response who pledged to emulate the example of the

–RAGGING CAMPAIGN 2018-2019

Anti ragging committee of the college conducted an awareness programme in the auditorium about the evil effects of
ragging. Mr.G.Vijay basker panal advocate, district legal service authority
(Lok Adalath)Eluru was the chief guest. The programme started with prayer.
Dr.P.Ratna mary HOD,of social sciences introduced the chief guest to the
audience,Sri G. Vijay bhaskar in his speech explained about the ragging
prohibition acts and the punishment accorded. He advised the student’s to take
resolution not to resort to ragging in any form and to maintain the college as
a ragging free campus. Sr.suneela rani, controller of examinations stressed
that severe action will be taken to prevent ragging in the campus.G. Mamatha II
HEP (E.M) shared her views on ragging. At the end of the programme the students
also took an 0ath that they wouldn’t commit any form of ragging in or out of
the campus.
