Dr.Sr.Marietta D’Mello lecturer in Psychology from
the department of social sciences gave a talk on Women Empowerment for better
mental health to village women organized by
Bhimadolu Development Society at De Paul college on 8th December
. She also gave counseling to some of the village women and also indicated certain solutions to
the problematic women .

Mary Head of the department of social sciences attended parents meeting in
social welfare hostel Number II(Sc &St) On 2nd December 2018 as a part of community extension programme .She
met the parents of students who are coming
from social welfare hostel and
discussed about the problems of students absenteeism and solutions . The warden of social welfare
hostel appreciated the efforts of department members.

The students of III B.A HEP (EM)& E.P.SW
presented a knowledge extension programme on the of ‘WOMEN TRAFFICKING’ on 29th November 2018
under the guidance Mrs.S.surekha, department of social sciences. The theme was
chosen accordingly and planned out in order to bring awareness among the students
about trafficking.
The
students beautifully depicted and conveyed the message, how the women are
trafficking in different ways in present society and created awareness about
preventive measures taken by the government and NGOs on women trafficking.
Knowledge extension 2018
The
students of III B.A HEP(TM) &THP presented knowledge extension programme on
the theme of AMARAVATHI BUDDHA SCLUPTURE on 29th November 2018 under
the guidance of G.M.Vijaya ratna kumari ,department of social sciences. The
theme was chosen accordingly and planned outin order to bring awareness among
the students about Amravati Buddha sculpture.
The students beautifully depicted and
conveyed the message about Amravati Buddha sculpture.
NATIONAL CONSTITUTIONAL DAY 2018
On the event
of the Constitutional day, department of social sciences conducted the
programme with the collaboration of ST SC BAHUJANA RIGHTS PROTECTION SOCIETY on
26th November 2018. Dr.P. Ratna mary HOD of social sciences and
Dr.Sr.Marietta D’mello HOD of psychology delivered their valuable talks on National constitutional day. The members of
ST SC BAHUJANA RIGHTS PROTECTION SOCIETY gave their valuable speech and
enlightend the students about Dr.B.R Ambedkar and importance of constitution
.The organizers distributed the prizes to the winners where the department of
arts conducted the Elocution and the quiz competitions on 24-11-2018. The
programme was ended with the national anthem.
JUVENILE HOME REPORT -COMMUNITY SERVICES
The department of psychology and social work students participated children week celebrations at juvenile home on 20th November 2018. Dr.Sr.Marietta D’mello head of the department of psychology delivered a talk on motivation. Students conducted various games for children according to their classes. In the afternoon session cultural programme was given by our students, and distributed sweets to the children. Dr.P.Ratna Mary head of the department of social sciences distributed pens to the juvenile home boys.
As a part of their children week celebrations on 20th November 2018they conducted velidutory programme,Dr.Sr.Marietta D’mello was the chief guest to the programme. We have distributed prizes for the winners in various games. The programme went on well and students of juvenile home felt very happy.
Leadership Training camp 2018
The department of social sciences organized a Two day Leadership Training camp on 24th 25th September 2018 in our college . which was sponsored by M.R.Pai foundation and forum of free enterprise , Mumbai. We are very happy to have such a wonderful program in our college . The program started with prayer service by III B.A students .Rev Dr.Sr.Marietta D”Mello Director of P.G courses address the gathering and wished the participants . Dr. P.Ratna Mary HOD of social sciences welcomed the gathering and resource persons Mrs. Clarissa Jathanna and Dr. Gowri Joshi . The resource persons gave a talks on Setting and Achieving Goals ,sharpening vital skills ,The power of Habits ,Effective communication ,coming together and understanding self and others. students from various colleges namely S.KS.D Mahilakalasala Tanuku ,Sir C.R.R.college for women ,Eluru ,St. Vincent De Paul Degree college Eluru ,ANR College Gudivada ,Goenka Degree college Tadepalligudem ,and Government degree college Eluru participated in the camp .The total number was 75 including host college students . Rev. Dr.Sr.Mercy wished the students and also distributed the participation certificates .In their response the students expressed their satisfaction over the whole event . They said that the program was enriching and stirring . They gain confidence to become future leaders of our great Nation .

competition which was sponsored by Forum of Free Enterprise , Mumbai on 8th September 2018. Many students were

Sarvepalli Radha krishan Birthday celebration 2018
The department of social sciences celebrated the birth anniversary of sri sarvepalli Radha krishan on 5 th September 2018. On this occasion Dr. P.Ratna Mary head of the department of social sciences garlanded the portrait of sri Sarvepalli Radha krishan .In her message she called upon the students to develop good personality ,to set big goals and work hard to achieve them. During the progrm the students Spoke about the life of Sarvepalli Radha krishan and presented cultural items to entertain them and honoured Teachers.

which is sponsored by Rotaract club of Eluru on 28th august 2018 .Dr .Y.Krishna ,orthopedic gave
awareness talk on health hazards due to deficiency of D vitamin .The students

adopted some remedies through the programme.Mrs .D.Brahmeswari Rtd.HOD Dr P.Ratna

department of social sciences conducted National sprit week celebrations in the
college from 17th to 21 and 27th to 28th august 2018.on the part of these
celebrations .
The
department of social sciences conducted various competitions on National spirit
like singing ,skit, extempore, fancy dresses etc .Ms.Vijaya Ratna Kuamari
lecturer in History enlightened the students on national spirit and birth
anniversary of Sri Tanguturi Prakasham Pantulu.

Rotaract Club of Ch.S.D.St.Theresa’s Autonomous College for Women, conducted an
installation ceremony in the media center at 3 PM on 7th August 2018. T.S.P.Krishna Mohan , President of
Rotary Club of Eluru, Secretary Sri Ram mohan, Rotarian Sri Phani Kumar, D. Brahmeswari Rotarian and Dr.Nirmala, were the guests. Sri
T.S.P.Krishna Mohan introduced about the Activities Rotary club of Eluru and installed the office
bearers.
The president Miss V.Hemalatha, secretary Miss
Bhargavi and directors and volunteers were installed to their
posts.Rev.Sr.P.Suneel Rani controller of Examinations and Mrs.Dr.P.Ratna Mary spoke about the service
through Rotaract club. The office bearers took the oath with dedication. Miss
Y. Sailaja, lecturer in Politics was the in charge member of Roteract Club of
the College for the year 2018 and she proposed vote of thanks
