Department of social
sciences arranged Entrepreneurship
development programme [EDP] on 21st February to develop entrepreneurship skills among our
students . All of them participated actively.
They arranged stalls in groups .
. Retirement function to Mrs.D.Brahmeswari
The Department of Social Sciences bade
good bye to Mrs.D.Brahmeswari HOD, Dept.of Social Sciences celebrated
the day in a grand manner and made her retirement day a memorable one.
Mrs. D.Brahmeswari retired from service on 30.11.2017. The management
thanked her for her dedicated service for 37 years in the department as
lecturer and HOD.
The management, the Correspondent and
Superior Rev. Mother Ernestine Fernandes, Principal Rev.Dr.Sr.Mercy,
Vice-Principal Rev.Sr.Showrilu, P.G.Director Rev.Dr.Sr.Marietta D’Mello,
Controller of Examinations Rev.Sr.Sunila Rani and Rev.Sr.Suseela,
Vice-principle of Inter campus, Heads of all departments, staff and students
felicitated her and lauded her service.
Roteract
Installation Programme
Venue: Media Center Date: 7-11-2017 Time 3 to 4 PM
The Rateract Club of
Ch.S.D.St.Theresa’s Autonomous College for Women, conducted an installation
ceremony in the media center at 3 PM on 7th November 2017. Dr. Miss
Lalitha, the District Assistant Governor of 3020 Rotary District, Sri Sai Babu,
President of Rotary Club of Eluru,Secreetary Sri Krishnaiah, Joint Secretary
Sri Krishna Mohan, Rotarian Sri PhaniKumar, Rotarian Sri PrasadBhogaraju were
the guests. Dr.Miss Lalitha spoke about the importance of Rotary in eradication
of Polio in the world. Sri Saibabu introduced about the activities of Rotary
Club of Eluru and installed the office bearers.
The president Miss nikhitha, secretary Miss
Maheswari and directors and volunteers were installed to their posts.Mrs.
D.Brahmeswari spoke about the service through Roteract club. The office bearers
took the oath of dedication. Miss Y. Sailaja, lecturer in Politics was the in
charge member of Roteract Club of the College for the year 2017 and she
proposed vote of thanks
65th College Union Inaugural
College Union inaugural
function was held on 5th July, 2017 in the college auditorium at 2pm
by the department of social sciences. The chief guest of the day was Lt.Col.
M.Venkata Ratnam , commanding officer 19(A) Bn NCC ,Eluru . The chief guest was
brought to the auditorium with a guard of honour by NCC cadets. The newly
elected union members came in a procession carrying the glorious flag of the
college to the auditorium. After
receiving blessings from Mother Ernestine the union members received the badges
as a symbol of being installed in the office by Sr. Showrilu , Vice Principal ,Dr. Sr.
Marietta D ‘Mello, PG director
,and Sr.Suneela Rani, Controller of
examinations.
Later they took the
Oath of office and swore in as office bearers and they promised that they would
discharge their duties towards the welfare of the students community
honestly , sincerely and truthfully .
Anti –ragging campaign
2017-18
On 17.6.2017 anti
ragging committee of the college conducted an awareness programme in the
auditorium about the evil assets of
ragging . Sri. S.Brahmam senior advocate, Eluru
was the chief guest . The
programme started with prayer song.
Dr.Sarma, lecturer in commerce introduced the chief guest to the
audience. Sri .S.Brahmam in his speech explained about the Ragging Prohibition
Act and the punishment accorded. He
advised the students to take resolution not to resort to ragging in any form
and to maintain a college as a free ragging campus. Sr.Suneela Rani, Controller of examinations
stressed that severe action will be
taken to prevent ragging in the campus . Mrs. D.Brahmeswari, Head of the
Department of Social sciences spoke about maintaining ragging free campus. The
programme came to an end with vote of thanks proposed by I.Nikhitha III B.A .Entrepreneurship development training for students:
On 11th February 2017 , the
department of social sciences organized a food plaza as a part of
entrepreneurship development programme . and as a part of Ethnic week
celebrations . the students brought different homemade food items, arranged
stalls for sale and sold the items to the student by the programme they could understand the aspect of business,
profits and loss . The whole programme
was supervised by Dr. Ratna Mary and Ms. K. Nagamani lecturers in economics.
Principal Dr.Sr.Mercy appreciated the lecturers for the innovative way of
giving practical training to the
students .
